Just a few minutes ago, I went into the living room to find little bits of a padded bag scattered around. My 2 1/2 year old has been learning how to use the scissors and this week she’s been using those skills to cut up whatever she can find when I am not looking. I am a work at home mom and keep dangerous objects out of the reach of my three kids, but I can’t see what they are doing ALL the time. Especially when I am writing!
I try to sit them down with a video while I write, so I can have some uninterrupted adult thoughts, but there’s always one running in wanting a snack, another one making a mess or losing the library DVD, or all of them fighting over my iPhone!
My sister-in-law has been trying to help out by giving me lists of indoor activities to do with the kids. Problem is, my craft supply is pathetic. I seriously need to stock up. And it’s February in New England so at this point I am desperate for a break. Kids going nuts inside all the time to begin with and now the oldest on school vacation to throw yet another wrench into the mix! Yikes. GOD. HELP. ME.
Who doesn’t go a little bit stir crazy in the wintertime when there are multiple feet of snow on the ground? We literally have snow vomit outside. The other day it snowed about four inches and we now consider that a “dusting”.
I don’t want to go out to the store to get food because everyone is cranky. And hauling three kids in car seats out to the store in their winter gear and sub-freezing temps is not my kind of fun. No wonder I am exhausted! I would like one beach vacation, please!
I know I need more protein but eating these days is tough because of gluten issues. I’m not sure if I am gluten intolerant but I definitely have some of the signs. So when I can find gluten free options like the Luna bar I go for it. It tastes like a candy bar anyway! So when I can’t go to the store to get more food, we create snacks here out of what is on hand.
We ALWAYS have locally produced dairy items like Cabot or Stonyfield. My kids love the Cabot French Vanilla yogurt so I took some of that and added little chunks of my Luna Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bar on top. Talk about a load of protein! This is a New England Winter Snack.
With 12 grams of protein, my Luna bar is a perfect gluten free snack!
Peanut butter meets soft nougat and adds a delicate crunch.
