When I was growing up, I had a German Shepherd mix dog and I believe he retained all of the best qualities of that breed. My dad taught him to throw a treat up in the air after it was placed on his nose. He would throw back his head, treat launched into the air, and then catch it in his mouth. He learned this after only a few tries. German Shepherds are like that and can usually learn something new after being taught a handful of times.
Zoe is a Gentle Giant who is a very friendly dog after meeting someone and detecting they are a friend of the family. I love how she is 6 years old and still very puppy-like, getting excited when people come to visit and wanting to play outside over and over again.
When I walk in the door, she runs over with curiosity and a quiet demand to know who is at her house. When she recognizes me, she nuzzles into my embrace, turning around and around. She is the most gentle German Shepherd I have ever known. And she is quite large. I think if I were to see her from afar without having known her, I would be afraid.
The best part about Zoe is her desire to protect. When the kids go out to play in the backyard, Zoe runs out excitedly, but immediately takes up her place nearby to keep watch for any danger. She is so protective over these kids and shows her love by keeping them safe.
So of course Zoe needs to be rewarded when she goes inside to rest! She was working hard outside keeping the kids safe. She loves her Tall Tails® bed and will likely make it a permanent fixture in the house. These beds are so portable and easily-cleaned by simply putting it in the washing machine and dryer.
I am thankful Zoe has a comfortable spot to rest after running around outside, playing and protecting. She is a large dog and very active despite being ill from something the veterinarian cannot figure out. She’s lost a lot of weight in the past few months but she continues to be friendly, playful and fierce protector.
We are proudly hosting a giveaway of one of these dog beds from Tall Tails,
