Exposure to toxins and chemicals in the environment leads to the buildup of toxins in the body. The problem is further compounded by ingesting junk foods, drinking alcohol, smoking cigarettes, using artificial sweeteners and leading a sedentary lifestyle. These activities all lead to a buildup of toxic chemical in the body.

A general full body detox should be done once every 3-6 months, but you should take steps to detox everyday to reduce the buildup of toxins in your body. Toxic buildup has been associated with organ failure and other major complications, but the warning signs are usually visible before major complications arise. You might experience the some of the following signs:

  • Chronic fatigue
  • Body odor
  • Joint pain
  • Allergies
  • Infections
  • Gas, bloating, constipation and other digestive disorders
  • Lack of energy
  • Weight gain
  • Dull hair and skin
  • Insomnia
  • Constant headaches
  • Anxiety and stress
  • Addiction to sweets and other unhealthy foods
  • Uncontrollable cravings

If you’re all too familiar with the warning signs listed above, you should get on a program to eliminate toxins from your body. After detoxification, most of your problems should disappear and you will realize an increase in overall energy and more positive health.

Simple Ways to Detox Everyday

Here are 5 simple ways you can detox everyday:

Drink Tea Very Early In Your Day
Green and herbal teas are high in antioxidants, which are beneficial to your health in several ways. When it comes to releasing toxins from your body, the antioxidants lubricate your intestines, which make for easier bowel movements.

Increase Your Alkali Food Intake
The average diet comprises of mainly acidic foods. Cheese, meat, grains, legumes, alcohol, nuts, caffeine and other foods increases the acidity of the blood. You can counteract the effects of acidic foods by including a lot of naturally alkaline foods in your diet. Start with foods like vegetables, fruit, herbs, coconut and leafy greens.

Drink Lots Of Water
Water has many benefits for your body. From keeping your body hydrated to delivering the materials your organs and tissues need, water is truly essential. Water also helps with the detoxification process by flushing out toxins and lubricating your intestines for unrestricted bowel movements.

Exercise
Exercise is good for your overall health. It will increase your heart rate, overall well-being, digestion and cell function. It will also help with weight management so you’re not harboring excess fat and toxins in your body. When you sweat during workouts you’ll eliminate toxic materials through your skin.

Don’t Eat In A Hurry
If you eat when you’re in a hurry, you’re less likely to take your time and chew your food. Chewing is important because it is the first step in breaking down carbohydrates (through the saliva in your mouth) for proper digestion. The better your food is broken down, the better the chances of it being absorbed by the cells that need it. It also makes it easier for your body to eliminate the stuff that it does not need.

I have several of the issues mentioned and definitely need to adopt some of the strategies mentioned. I know I need to eat better, drink more water, and exercise. It’s just a matter of motivation and willpower. One’s eating, exercise, and sleeping habits are evident in one’s appearance and mood.

Minus the tea drinking, I will try to incorporate these suggestions. I definitely need to slow down while eating.

I used to love tea but now with three little ones, coffee is my joy!

I have had Lupus for over 30 years and I was astonished when I read that list. And scared. I have almost every single problem on it. Makes me wonder where the line is between my auto-immune disease and what he talks about. I am going to follow this guide and I bless you for sharing it!

Wow Robin, I am so sorry you have these issues but I hope this can help! I need to drink more green tea – I feel my energy level is not what it should be. A great way to get more green tea is to brew a green tea with fruit blend and mix with low-sugar natural lemonade.

Interesting about the green tea. I normally drink coffee but maybe I’ll start having a green tea first thing in the morning.

Good advice, I need to try doing these more. I have heard green tea pushed as healthy, but I didn’t know herbal teas were also included. Are there any that are better than others?

Interesting – I can not drink hot tea, at all. I wonder if the benefits are the same with iced tea, which I do drink regularly.

I would think so, Sherry, since you are brewing the tea the same way. ๐Ÿ™‚

I love these tip but I do want to highlight we tend to eat fast esp when we are at work for lunch. Even if you get 15 minutes, sit quietly and eat thoughtfully.
