How Do You Use Tea Tree Oil to Keep Mosquitoes Away?

Make a Mosquito Repellant

To make a mosquito repellent, you will need a spray bottle, tea tree oil, and carrier oil. There several carrier oils that you can mix with tea tree oil to get that perfect blend they include jojoba oil, olive oil, or coconut oil.

  1. Mix ten drops of tea tree oil to 4 drops of your preferred carrier oil.
  2. Apply topically to any exposed part of your body twice or thrice a day.
  3. Apply directly to your clothes
  4. You can apply tea tree oil directly without diluting it. Place a drop or two on your clothes to keep mosquitoes away.

Diffuse the Oils

You can add essential oils to your diffuser and let it run in your home or even outside when you are on your deck or patio. Add eucalyptus, peppermint, lemongrass oil, rosemary oil or lavender oil to your tea tree oil in the diffuser.

What Insects Does Tea Tree Oil Repel?

Tea tree oil is an excellent bug repellent. It repels several insects such as ticks, ants, bed bugs, dust mites, and head lice. To repel these bugs from your home, you can clean your surfaces with a bug repellant containing tea tree oil. For head, lice look for a shampoo that contains tea tree oil as one of the active ingredients.
