How Do You Make Thanksgiving Special for Kids?
Thanksgiving is a special time of year for families to come together and give thanks for all the blessings in their lives, and it’s important to make sure that the kids feel included in the festivities. To make Thanksgiving extra special for them, get them involved in the preparations, like helping with the decorations or making a special dish for the feast.
You could also plan fun activities for them, like a scavenger hunt or a game of touch football. Another idea is to create a “gratitude jar,” where everyone can write down what they’re thankful for and read them aloud during dinner. By making Thanksgiving fun and meaningful for kids, you’re helping them to learn the importance of gratitude and family traditions.
I love doing these Thanksgiving Conversation Starters for Kids every year! My kids love it, too.

What Special Drinks Can Kids Have on Thanksgiving?
Thanksgiving is a time for family, feasting, and fun. And what better way to celebrate the holiday than with some special drinks for the kids to enjoy? There are many tasty options available, from apple cider to hot chocolate, and even pumpkin spice latte.
Apple cider can be served warm or cold with cinnamon sticks for garnish, and hot chocolate can be made extra special with whipped cream and marshmallows. And for those kids who want to feel extra fancy, a pumpkin spice latte can be made with steamed milk and a sprinkle of cinnamon on top. No matter what you choose, these special drinks are sure to put a smile on any kid’s face this Thanksgiving.
Can I Make this Punch Ahead of Time?
Absolutely! Making punch ahead of time is a great way to take some of the stress out of party planning. Not only will it save you time on the day of the party, but allowing your punch to chill in the refrigerator for a few hours actually lets the flavors meld together and intensify.
Just be sure to mix everything except for the ginger ale and the ice cream until you’re ready to serve, otherwise the bubbles will quickly fizzle out and, obviously, the ice cream will melt.
My son actually enjoyed the punch like a milkshake so some kids will want that. But for presentation, it looks really nice with a dollop of ice cream on top!
And remember, the colder the punch, the better! So go ahead and get that punch bowl ready earlier rather than later so you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the party.
