Homemade Bird Feeders with Toilet Paper Rolls
Homemade Bird Feeders
Ok, I admit I found this green craft idea on Pinterest! But I thought it was really great for my preschooler and oh so easy and quick and fun to go outside and hang on the trees! It’s basically self-explanatory so I am just going to add in basic steps. My preschooler loved slathering the peanut butter on the toilet paper rolls! I love finding crafts for kids that are just a little bit messy and also fun for my kids.
Step One: Gather your materials
– toilet paper rolls
– peanut butter
– birdseeds
– pan for rolling
– heavy twine or rope
Step Two: Slather the peanut butter on the paper rolls
Step Three: Roll the toilet paper rolls into the bird seed (even a preschooler can do it!)
Step Four: Hang the “birdfeeders” in the yard with heavy twine or rope.
Our birds have been really enjoying their Homemade Bird Feeders over the last few days. It’s great to see our friends happy and flittering around!
Another wonderful idea to put all those toilet paper rolls to good use! Our boys love watching the birds and now they’ll get to have pride in seeing them eat off their creations!
Thanks for the great how-to 🙂
I love them! They were so easy and most people have all the materials on hand. You’re right – it’s a great way for the kids to see how they directly help the birds.
Very cute idea! We are going to make some of these! Thanks!
Thanks Debbie – they were really fun and easy!
