What Is Green Tea?
Green tea is a type of tea that is made from Camellia sinensis leaves and buds that have not undergone the same withering and oxidation process used to make oolong teas and black teas. Green tea originated in China, and since then its production and manufacture has spread to other countries in East and Southeast Asia. Wikipedia
Why Use Green Tea for Skin?
Green tea is an anti-inflammatory for skin conditions such as rosacea, psoriasis and eczema. You can actually drink a cup of green tea and then let the skin ‘breathe’ by not applying any product for at least 20 minutes.
Tea has tannins that can dry out bacteria, reducing acne. The antioxidants in green tea are also beneficial, fighting off the free radicals that damage skin cells and cause signs of aging.
Research shows that green tea can fight off skin disorders like psoriasis, eczema and rosacea. This Green Tea Soap Recipe includes ground green tea mixed with soothing goat’s milk soap as well as whole green tea which can act like an exfoliant to help rid the body of dead skin along with the green tea itself. You can also add essential oils that will benefit and soothe your skin issues.
