Home Remedy for Itchy Scalp
Do you have a dry, itchy scalp? Do you struggle with discomfort even when you use “good” shampoo? Natural home remedies like this home remedy for itchy scalp can help soothe and relieve discomfort.
There is a really easy solution and a great home remedy for itchy scalp! I used to use just baking soda mixed with my sulfate-free shampoo (see the list), which would soothe my scalp for a few hours, only to have the itchiness return before my next washing. Recently I started mixing lavender essential oil into the baking soda and shampoo and letting it sit on my head for a few minutes before rinsing. I am finally found relief! I can go to each shampoo without the uncomfortable itch and burning that accompanies dry scalp.
According to Top 10 Home Remedies, baking soda helps relieve itching by exfoliating the scalp and controlling dandruff caused by overactive fungi.
Well Water Effects on Scalp
While well water is fine for drinking, it can cause many problems for your hair, scalp and skin including:

- Hair is discolored by copper build-up (blondes tint green, dark hair darkens)
- Hair lacks body and shine
- Hair is thinning or breaking
- Color fades too quickly
- Scalp is flaking, itching or inflamed
- Scalp is dry
- Symptoms of Dandruff/Eczema on scalp
When properly applied to hair or scalp, lavender oil does not only hydrate or moisturize, but it provides nourishment as well.
