Homemade Skin Care with Essential Oils

I have decided to take back my health, when I get proactive and get rid of all toxic things in my house, beginning with those I put directly on my body. This is a great time to invest in your health! Let's do this!

Lemon Sugar Scrub

blog oils lemon1 1/2 c sugar (I used turbinado)
2 tbsp coconut oil
1 lemon
1/2 tsp lemon oil

Heat up the coconut oil in a small container.
Mix it with sugar, then cut the lemon in half and squeeze the juice into the bowl.
Then add the essential oil.
Keep it in the shower or at kitchen sink.

Peppermint Lip Balm

oils peppermint1 tablespoon beeswax
1 tablespoon organic Shea butter
2 tablespoons sweet almond oil
10 drops of peppermint essential oil

Melt the beeswax, shea butter and coconut oil in a bowl. Stir to mix all the ingredients properly.
Once it is all melted, remove from the heat and add the peppermint oil. Divide into tin jars. Let cool.

*I used an old glass jar and melted everything in boiling water on stove.

Lavender Facial Cleanser

blog oils lavender4oz Castile Soap
10-15 drops lavender oil (can add lemon)
12oz water
16oz container

Mix all ingredients together. This is non-toxic, safe and non-drying with NO Sulfates (SLS)!

Purification Blemish Healer

2 Tbsp coconut oil
3-4 drops Purification Oil blend

In a small pot, gently melt the coconut oil on low heat. Remove from heat and add in the oil.

Add to lip balm tubes for blemish zapping on the go!

Also works for bug bites and as bug repellent!

Thieves Oral Health

Put a drop of thieves on your toothbrush
before brushing to kill cavity producing germs
and to sanitize your toothbrush.

Thieves Toothpaste
6 tablespoons coconut oil
6 tablespoons baking soda
25 drops Thieves oil
Melt oil and stir until smooth.

Panaway Muscle Salve

Use for sore muscles or bruises!

1 tsp coconut oil (or other carrier oil)
1/2 tsp PanAway
2 drops of Copaiba (optional: to enhance the effects and to support pain management)

Mix well and massage into area of concern.
*Can add lemongrass, valor or balsam fir for additional support.

Joy Deodorant

1/2 cup coconut oil
1/2 cup shea butter
1/2 cup + 1 tsp beeswax
1/2 cup organic arrowroot powder (or non-GMO cornstarch)
20 drops Joy essential oil

Combine coconut oil, butter and beeswax in a glass mason jar and place this in a small saucepan of water until melted. Stir ingredients constantly until they are melted and smooth. Remove from heat and add the arrowroot powder and essential oils. Pour into muffin tins.

Melaleuca Foaming Face Wash

oils melaleuca1 cup filtered water
1/4 cup liquid castile soap
5 teaspoons jojoba oil
2 tablespoons raw honey:
1 tablespoon tea tree oil
15 drops lemon essential oil

Add the ingredients in the order listed. Stir the mixture gently. 1 or 2 pumps is all you need as the castile soap is very concentrated. The mixture will separate, so give it a little shake before each use!

Stress Away Bath Salts

2 cups epsom salts
1/2 cup baking soda
1/4 cup sea salt (optional)
40 drops of Stress Away oil

Mix all ingredients in a medium size bowl. Store in an air-tight jar and use 1/4 cup per bath, adding to running water.
