Household Cleaning

Natural Air Freshener

To freshen up different home areas that might have a smell, add a few drops of peppermint oil using a spray bottle mixed with water. You may even try to few drops on the inner of a roll of toilet paper. When someone use it, the fragrance releases every time.

Insect and Spider Repellent

The smell of peppermint oil is intense and can discourage mice.  Add 10-15 drops of peppermint essential oil to soak cotton balls and disperse them all around in your home where you have found rodent movement. Every few days, replace the cotton balls.

Wasp Repellent 

You can also use peppermint oil to getting rid of wasps and prevent rebuilding the nest by insects in the same area. Mold Cleaner 

To use, mix half a cup of vinegar and half a cup of salt in a spray bottle, apply half a teaspoon of peppermint oil and get to work on mold hiding in the corners of the bathroom and basement. Spray it and allow it to sit for several minutes before wiping it clean.

Plant Pest control 

A few days a week, spray household plants with a combination of few drops of peppermint essential oil and water. The plant will not be damaged by diluted oil and the spray will deter pests and clear the plant from eating aphids.

Remove Odors from Trash 

Add a 10-15 drops of peppermint oil at the trash can bottom. In your garbage, the fresh minty fragrance can regulate smells, also help to discourage ants and other pests like mice.

Get Rid of the Ants 

 In a spray bottle, blend 15-20 drops of peppermint oil in 1 cup of water. Shake well and spray or anywhere ants are seen around cracks and crevices.
