Lavender Cream for Eczema
If you're looking for a natural solution to eczema, lavender cream may be the answer. This cream is made with essential oils and can help soothe and calm irritated skin.
Materials
- 1/4 Cup Shea Butter
- 3/4 Cup Coconut Oil
- 40 Drops Lavender Essential Oil
- 5-10 Drops Tea Tree Essential Oil
- 8 Ounce Jar
Tools
- Microwavable Bowl
- Hand Mixer
- Mixing Bowl
- Spatula
Instructions
- I used a glass pyrex measuring cup to melt the shea butter and coconut oil in the microwave in 30-second intervals. Alternatively, you can use a double boiler on the stovetop.
- Once the butter and oil have melted let it sit for a minute or two and then add the essential oils and stir. Pour into mixing bowl.
- You need to let the mixture cool enough so it starts to solidify. You will see it start to turn opaque. This is when you can start mixing. It will be like mixing heavy cream but you will be amazed at how quickly it thickens! Mix it for 2-3 minutes and then let sit again for about 10-15 minutes.
- Repeat this process a few times until the cream is the consistency you like it. I whipped it so it was pretty solid.
- Then transfer to a glass jar. Glass is ideal for storing things made with essential oils.
- This cream can be stored at room temperature. It should last for quite some time (3-6 months).
