Strawberry Banana Smoothie with Oatmeal

Strawberry Banana SmoothieI’ve been having such a hard time eating during this pregnancy for some reason. It’s not like the stereotypical pregnancy where I can and want to eat everything. In fact, nothing is appetizing to me. It is baffling to me, my loved ones and my midwife! Some days it’s hard to just remember to eat and drink and on more than one occasion I’ve been sick at night from not eating right during the day. I know I need to be careful and eat right since my body is working hard to bring a life into this world. I need to be in top shape for my family and my work so I’ve looked into recipes for things that I do want to eat. Cold things. Frozen things. Sweet, cold, juicy strawberry banana smoothie! Yum. this was so good today. I definitely recommend soaking the oatmeal in the milk for maybe 10 minutes before you blend the smoothie. I made it per the original directions with just finely ground quick-cooking oats and it was pretty grainy. You can also add yogurt, too! I am not a yogurt fan so I was happy with just milk. Quick, natural, nutritious food!

I also have been turning to smoothies during this pregnancy – been craving lots of fruits and veggies. I’ve never thought of putting oats into the smoothies thought – great idea! I have all of this so going to have to try it tomorrow!

I live for smoothies once the weather gets hot! This recipe sounds delicious and filling. Strawberry smoothies are my favorite so I’m sure I would love this.

I love strawberries and bananas together. I never had them with oatmeal though or in a smoothie. Guess it’s time I find out!
