Can I meal prep these recipes ahead of time?
These recipes are great for meal prepping! You can chop veggies, cook grains, and prep proteins ahead of time to make busy weekdays easier. Things like roasted veggies or cooked chicken store well in airtight containers in the fridge for a few days. Some dishes, like soups or casseroles, can even be made completely in advance and just reheated when you’re ready to eat. Spending a couple of hours on meal prep each week can save you time and make sure you always have healthy, tasty meals ready to go.
What ingredients should I keep on hand for easy dinners?
Having a well-stocked pantry and fridge is key to making easy weeknight dinners. Here are some ingredients you should always have on hand:
- Grains like rice, pasta, quinoa, or couscous
- Canned beans like chickpeas, black beans, or kidney beans
- Frozen veggies like peas, corn, spinach, or mixed vegetables
- Chicken broth or vegetable broth for soups and stews
- Canned tomatoes for sauces and casseroles
- Spices and herbs for flavoring (garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, etc.)
- Olive oil or cooking spray for sautéing vegetables or proteins
With just a few basic ingredients, you can easily throw together all kinds of dishes and tweak them to suit your taste. Try mixing up different grains, beans, and veggies to discover new flavors. And don’t forget to grab your family’s go-to proteins like chicken, tofu, or fish during your grocery run. With these staples on hand, weeknight dinners just got a whole lot easier!
