We all know fleas are gross and hard to manage. Did you know tea tree oil for fleas is an effective treatment as well as preventative? This is one of the best natural pest control strategies to try when insects are so hard to see.
Tea tree oil contains toxins called terpenes which gives the oil its antiseptic, anti-fungal, and anti-bacterial properties. Fleas will steer clear of these types of toxins, making it a good flea-repellant. Tea tree oil uses include anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties that will relieve itchiness, kill any bacteria, and reduce the swelling.
Quick Facts about Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil comes from the leaves of the tea tree. In the eighteenth century there were sailors who made tea that smelled like nutmeg from the leaves of the tree growing on the swampy southeast Australian coast.
