Prunes are packed with fiber, which can help keep things moving along in your digestive system. But that’s not all – prunes also contain sorbitol, a natural sugar alcohol that can have a laxative effect. So if you’re feeling backed up, it might be worth reaching for a handful of prunes instead of that over-the-counter medication. Just make sure to drink plenty of water to help things along even more.

What Health Benefits Do Prunes Have?

And when it comes to incorporating nutrient-rich foods into our meals, prunes definitely deserve a spot at the table. These wrinkly, sweet fruits may not seem as exciting as some other superfoods, but the health benefits they offer are nothing to scoff at.
