Will Bananas Turn Brown in Frozen Yogurt?
If you’ve ever had frozen yogurt with fresh toppings, you know that one of the best things about it is the contrast between the cold, creamy yogurt and the fresh fruit. Unfortunately, that delicious contrast can be ruined if the fruit isn’t properly prepared. If you’re planning to use bananas in your frozen yogurt, for example, you’ll need to take steps to prevent them from turning brown. Brown bananas are not only unappealing to look at, they also don’t have the same flavor as fresh bananas.
There are a few different ways to keep bananas from turning brown in frozen yogurt. One is to add them just before serving. Another is to mix them with lemon juice before adding them to the yogurt. The lemon juice will help to prevent oxidation and keep the bananas looking fresh. Whatever method you choose, make sure to add the bananas at the last minute so that your frozen yogurt is as delicious as it can be.
The secret to success with this recipe is finding the right balance between the tangy Greek yogurt and more mild cream cheese. If you use regular yogurt instead, you may want to use a little more because it is less creamy than Greek varieties.
